Unified football, cheerleading registration under way: Registration for Unified Football and Cheerleading at the Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Authority is under way at 300 W. Third St. through Wednesday, July 16. The registration fee is $40. Football is open to children ages 7-12 and cheerleading is open to girls ages 6-12. Where in the World is Rome, Georgia-Monday July 21 Kids start off history camp with a bang as they engage in an interactive geography lesson and a day of visiting local landmarks designed to teach the fascinating facts and secrets of Rome’s long, rich history. Lifestyles of the Past-Tuesday July 22 campers spend the morning learning about the daily lives of earlier residents of this area complete with demonstrations and storytelling on the porch. A field trip to some local landmarks, lessons in traditional crafts, and ga.m. es complete the day.
River Ways-Wednesday July 23
campers will have a dreamy time on a two hour lunch and tour aboard the Roman Holiday designed to teach the importance of the rivers to Rome’s history. An afternoon of river related arts and crafts completes this day of interactive fun!
Taking a Stand-Thursday July 24 This day is dedicated to learning about events in which the people of Rome were called to take a stand for their beliefs. Students will explore the Civil Rights Movement and World War II through stories, walking tours and interviews.
Fun the Old Fashioned Way-Friday July 25 History camp winds down with a day of fun and ga.m. es of the past and a picnic down by the river. The finale will be an easy going afternoon spent exploring Civil War era music, dance, and refreshments.
The cost of RAHM’s summer camp is $100 for the entire week or $20 per day.

Register your child for a week or for the summer. Summer Camps offer a variety of activities based on weekly themes. Parents can select a camp from five community locations. In addition to the traditional summer camp, many new camps have been added this year and include Outdoor Camp, Road Trip Camp, Challenger British Soccer Camp and All Sports Camp.
