The map below roughly shows how the new Barron Stadium would be built just before State Mutual Stadium as you make your way toward the ballpark on Braves Boulevard off the Bypass. See notes below on what's what:
1. The stadium is projected to be the new Barron Stadium, presuming a deal is struck to sell the existing site to developers Dee Yancey and Doc Kibler.
2. To the right of the new Barron is the parking lot that separates it from State Mutual Stadium, home of the Rome Braves.
3. The "gym" and "pool" shown above are separate projects from the new football stadium and were not included in the review Thursday before the planning commission. The gymnasium would replace the one now near the current Barron Stadium.
4. The "miracle league" field is designed to let handicapped children enjoy the sport of baseball. It, too, is a separate part of the development.
5. The 1.5-acre "outlot" is the rumored new home of State Mutual Insurance Co. The "outlot" is directly across the street from Fuddrucker's.
