Adam Frey joins Rome Symphony for concert June 13
(Media release) World renowned and internationally acclaimed euphonium soloist, Adam Frey, joins the Rome Symphony in a concert featuring some of opera's greatest arias, including music by Verdi, Puccini and Rossini. Mr. Frey, a native of Atlanta, is widely regarded as one of the most entertaining and innovative performers of his generation and is featured on multiple recordings with ensembles around the globe.
Tickets for the June 13 concert are on sale at Merry Bee Gallery, The Music Room, Kroger, RACA, the Rome Visitor Center, World Hi-Fi and the RSO business office. Advance tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and $3 for students. Tickets may be purchased at the door on the evening of the concert for $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and $6 for students. Remember to bring your own chairs and a table if you would like. This is a dinner concert and all are encouraged to bring your friends, food and beverage and enjoy the air conditioned venue at the Huffman Center at Darlington School. The concert begins at 7:00 p.m., and doors will open at 6:00 p.m. Tables and Chairs will be set up for you if you would like to rent them from us - tables with chairs rent for $25 - $40 depending on the size and number of chairs. Two local authors honored: (Media release) Two of Rome's authors have been honored. The Independent Publisher Book Awards have been announced for 2009:
>Raymond L. Atkins won the Gold Medal for the category Southeast Region-Best fiction for his book, The Front Porch Prophet (Medallion Press).
>John P. Schulz received a Gold Medal for South-Best Fiction with Requiem for a Redneck (Wheredepony Press)
-The IPPY Awards were conceived as a broad best, unaffiliated awards program open to all members of the independent publishing industry, and are open to authors and publishers worldwide who produce books written in English and intended for the North American market. More than 4,000 books were entered for the competition.

About the Rome Art Coterie: The Rome Art Coterie is an organization of artists and non-artists living in Rome and surrounding communities. The purpose of the group is to cultivate an appreciation for art and to advance community interest in the visual arts. The organization serves to promote the visual arts through workshops, critiques, lectures, exhibits and community activities. Membership in Rome Art Coterie is open to all interested persons 18 years of age and over.
